Tops

Good day. Is there a place that can supply new tops and snap on covers for a 1984 ss160. The top that came with mine has no back or side panels and there is no cover for the open bow. The hoops and hardware for the top are in good shape but the material is shrunk and will not fit across the windsheild anymore. Thanks

That is typically a custom job. I'd be looking for a canvas shop in your area.

Some Starcraft dealers may still have these tops available. I have a lead on a top for my 1979 16' SS from a guy whose family used to run a SC marina. He has stock leftover that he's selling off when he can.

I really want the bow snap-on cover too to keep her dry in some bad weather.

Should be much cheaper that way than a custom job, but with the economy the way maybe canvas shops will be reasonable too.

Puget I will let you know once I have contacted my possible source. I haven't spoken with the guy yet. Hopefully he's got a bunch of them available

Bert at C&M upholstery in Edmonton makesa them out of Sunbrella or anything you'd like.

The dude is a god with this stuff and even makes his own hardware. rails and adds his own snaps, etc. You could send him a picture for a quote...

I'm looking at getting the same done in the spring or over the winter...

Do you know if the shop can do this without the boat at his place. Guess I could call him . Ed

My guess is he would need the boat or the old top as a template.

If you're lucky and he has another boat of the same type in he could make two at the same time.
