top carb leaks fuel at an idel

I have a 1979 115 inilne merc and my top carb leaks fuel out the throat when im at an idel.it idels a lil rough runs great thofrom just off an idel to wot.does the carb need rebuilt or just an adjustment?also on the back of the motor there is like a cooling head i have water leaking around my plugs nnot into the motor the leak is external can anyone tell me the name of this part?and where i might get it i didnt see anything like that at iboats.thank you for your time...

Rob, You will need to rebuild the top carb with a new inlet needle and seat and new gaskets. Inspect the float. There were two kinds, a foam one that disintergrated and a hard plastic float that cracked. Replace the float if it is bad. Set the correct float height, and ther carb should not leak anymore.
