Does anyone know the proper tools for removing these bearings? Also, is a slide hammer the proper tool for removing the pinion bearing race from the gear housing? I'm going to try to take the housing and propshaft to a machinist and see if they can remove/install new Made in USA bearings, but would like to do it myself if possible.
Are there any reasonable substitutes for the proper bearing puller tool?
thanks,

Well,
If anyone was wondering, I just took the propshaft and gear assembly, and the pinion to a business called "Bearing service and supply" in Shreveport, where they will remove the old and press on new bearings.
I suggest a similar route for a similar problem.
