Tool part # help

I need the part # for the prop shaft bearing carrier removal tool. This would be a sleeve with three prongs.

It is for a 15hp merc serial # oc193225

Some of these motors had a prop thrust washer that could be turned around and used as a tool to remove the carrier.- It is a thread that loosens turning it the other way too.

yep, I realize it is left hand thread.

No thrust washer as tool.

Achris, If that is an accurate representation of the actual tool it won't work. It is very similar but would need only three prongs. I will try to post a pic of the bearing carrier to see if that will help. Something about photbucket and IMG. I will work on it shortly. thanks

That's the only tool listed for 15hp engines. Even if your carrier has only 3 slots, a 6 slot tool will work fine...

Well, I found the thrust washer in a box of parts that were brought with the motor. I'll be darned but that thrust washer was actually in there. Just had to remove a little "wear cup" and it looks like it will work! Thanks again guys.

Getting lucky like that makes me wonder whats around the bend. ha ha
