I messed up and put way too much oil in the mower. Now when I go to start it the oil is coming out of the air intake via the carburator, the air filter is soaked in oil. Any reccomendations on how to fix?

Remove excess oil from crankcase, replace filter, pull fuel bowl off carb and emtpy, pull plug and crank it to blow any excess oil out, replace plug, start and run till it stops smoking..

At least this is what I would do..

If it were me, I'd just drain the excess and pop in a new filter. Betting it could've used a spring filter change anyway. I've found my Toro's to be forgiving of everything except leaving them outside and getting rained on whereby the stator rusts and stops working properly.

I would completely drain, pull the carb and clean, new air filter, pull plug and turn over to clean the cylinder, then carefully refill, it happens, but next time be careful, I ended up getting a free Volkswagen rabbit many years ago, because they had over fill the crankcase on it and it would not run, ended up selling that car for $3000 because of their mistake!

That's what I would do too. When you start it up it may just smoke for a little bit......

Agree with posts 3 & 5, but I'd pull & clean plug, and I'd shoot a blast of starting fluid in the new air filter to get it to fire. That stuff will ignite if you snap your fingers....

Thanks guys. The carb was full of oil. Pulled it off, took it apart, sprayed everything down with break clean and it ran like a champ. The mower was bought last year and had some rough idle issues when I took it apart it looks like the float in the bowl may have been misassembeled at the factory.
