Too much/Not enough Sonar stuff

Yes, that's right. I have too much of some stuff and not enough of other stuff.

I have an old Humminbird LCR4000, complete, that I took off of my Whaler because it took up too much room on the console. I broke the coax lead to the Xducer when I took it out, but splicing coax is not a difficult task. I would like to give it away to some deserving youngster who can't buy one for him(her)self.

I have a Lowrance PPP-6 portable power supply that mounts an Eagle Ultra II or same size Lowrance/Eagle unit that uses the gray power connector. It uses 2 lantern batteries.

I have 2 192KHz HS-WS skimmer transducers with gray connector and one Troller-mount, side-looking PD-W 192KHz transducer with gray connector. I also have the dual transducer adapter cable that allows an Ultra II to look down and sideways at the same time.

Finally, I have a SupraPro-ID and a FishEasy. Both complete and working.

I would like to sell/trade all of the above.

I am open to proposals.

Red sky at night. . .
JB

Re: Too much/Not enough Sonar stuff

The SupraPro ID and the FishEasy are gone. I am still interested in giving the Hummer to some good youngster who can't get one on his/her own. Any nominations??

Red sky at night. . .
JB

Re: Too much/Not enough Sonar stuff

What I have left, Robtness, is a special set-up I put together for an Eagle Ultra II sounder that was mounted in the bow for the front-seat pilot to use.

The PT-WS Skimmer is a streamlined, 192KHz xducer for looking down from a troller motor; The PD-W is a 192KHz puck-style Xducer for looking sideways from a troller. They were both on the same troller.

The adapter "Y" cable plugs them both into an Eagle or Lowrance unit that is capable of simultaneously displaying a depth display and a "side-finder" display.

The Eagle Ultra II I had them on lost its display when a grandson dropped it on a ramp while rigging for launch. It has since been replaced by a Lowrance X65, which doesn't have the dual display feature and couldn't use these units anyway because they have the gray connectors and all new Lowrance and Eagle units use a better, but incompatible connector.

I traded for an old, sick Eagle Ultra that I just may be able to repair and install on my front-seat station, but I don't have it yet so I would like to hold on to my unique Xducer package until I know whether I can use it once again.

Sorry for the extended explanation. Do you have a particular need I might help you with??

BTW, This is my 1000th post on this board.

Red sky at night. . .
JB

Re: Too much/Not enough Sonar stuff

Congrats on your 1000th post! i do the same sort of thing on a computer admin bulletin board and admire what you're doing here....

On my new (to me) boat (my first real boat) I have an old Hummingbird Depth Sounder mounted on it. Worked great a few times, but last time I was out the LEDs shut off and the wheel stopped spinning. Couldn't get it to start up again. I suspect the power cable, because I saw the leads on the back were barely held together by the old twist and electrical tape method. I got them together more securely, but still no go. I wonder if a short fried the whole thing? *sigh* Too many other good places for my money. And while I was playing with it I shorted the positive and negative wires and fried 'em. Way to make things worse, eh? To be able to reconnect it I'll need a new plug for the back of the unit, as the wires were fried up in to that.

*sigh*

I guess I'd rather have a fishfinder anyways. Maybe I'll try for one for xmas. you recommend the Eagle Fisheasy over the Hummingbird 100, right? Any particular reason why?

Thanks!

Re: Too much/Not enough Sonar stuff

Yes, Yensid, I do. I find the Eagle more reliable and easier to use. I have only had one Hummer, the old LCD 4000 I am trying to give away. It has been reliable enough, it just takes up too much room and doesn't have the features of the newer Eagles.

I have heard others swear by their Hummers, but too many swear at them.

If yours has been reliable, I'd bet you can get a new power cord from H'bird for a lot less than a new one of any kind.

Good luck.

I figure I'll give that a shot first to make it through this season, but it's only a depth sounder. I'd like something that will show me the fishies, too :)

I'll take the Hummer if you still have it. My 4 yr old twins will have a blast watching for fish on it. Does it show fish symbols?? Please e-mail me and we will figure out the logistics. bill_cds@hotmail.com

Thanks!
