Maybe he was onto something? Well, no bids, guess not. and...if it won't sell on ebay, it must be less than worthless.
On a different, but, fishing note. The more time a person spends on the water, the more they learn. After a while, a "hump, flat, drop" with fish possibility jumps out at you...and the same that probably won't produce is recognizable as well.
But, for the novice, there are fishing magazines. Which, I do remember each issue of many of them saying, for the most part.
In winter, fish are on points, drops, humps, flats, channel edges....and, this was pretty much where to look other seasons as well.
Millions of publications giving this advice and almost as many people trying to learn to fish are using it.

I used to think. My lake is made up of "flats, drops, humps, points, and creek channels". (WHATS LEFT???)....and I paid how much for that advice?

Local fishing reports narrowed it down a bit, but, usually it was best not to read one.
Unless of course, "smallmouth are on do-nothing banks". That was a dead give away that I would catch some fish....No matter how chunk rock/pea gravel/clay the bank was...to me it always wound up "do-nothing".
