Re: too big or not

A tandem axle bunk style trailer would be better to pull the pontoon then a scissors lift trailer due to the narrow wheel base. A bunk style tandem axle would be much better & brakes would be a big asset too. Both type of trailers have their advantages & disadvantages but overall I think most people prefer the bunk trailers.

I just upgraded from a single axle trailer that I was going to use to haul my 24ft Riviera Crusier on to a tandem axle with brakes. A single axle can get squirrley on the road at times & it did not have brakes on it. I do not really need brakes due to the state laws & the area where I live (no mountains)but having them is a plus. Especially when out on Interstate 95 where most people are driving 75-90 mph most of the time. Having the add brakes power isn't going to hurt at all IMO.

Of coarse you can haul that where ever you want but as mentioned you may want to get a different trailer.

Scissor trailers are okay but you always need to remember you can't turn fast.

We have dealers that bring in boats from pretty far away on scissors so it can be done but a bunk trailer is certainly a better option.

I agree with the previous posts. Trailers are very slow to lose their value. On top of that a tandem axle trailer with brakes makes it much safer to haul around, so the extra investment of money may return dividends some day.
