Tohatsu short or longshaft??

Hi, i have a tohatsu 30 HP model m30a2 - its a 1986 model. I need to know if its considered a long or short shaft. I measured from the top of the transome bracket(where the top of the transom would sit) down to the large fin on the lower unit and it measured 18". From the transome bracket to the top of the lower unit is 15". That just seems a little off to me. let me know if you all can figure anything out. Thanks<br /><br />Tawd

I believe that is a short shaft engine, Tawd.<br /><br />Good luck. :)

My "long" Tohatsu 40 is actually about 22.5" instead of 20 like a Mercury. I guess they run long.
