Ok you tohatsu gurus....where can I get parts, such as pistons, bearings, maybe some fiber reeds, and a few extras for a 1985 30HP??
A buddy I work with has a 7ft additor with a 30, and we injested some water after some serious air-time and had a hard-core lock-up.
Any help would be great, guys!

Re: Tohatsu parts

I would start with Avalon Professional Group.

www.internetoutboards.com

From what I am told, they are the main distributor in the USA for Nissan/Tohatsu. If you have a local Nissan dealer, it is probably who they use.

Hummmm.....interesting user name there....
We are a dealer, and have been told the parts we need are NLA, but we have located a powerhead, but thank you for the help!
Dealer stock appears limited on cranks, etc, but we did find a factory Power head available in the system, just a little more than expected for O/H..

Kenny,

Those parts are all still available, except that the reeds are ss. In fact they just brought back the 2-stk 25-30 hp in April for limited production.

Re: Tohatsu parts

Are parts for 1985 Nissan 40hp (twin cyl) discontinued/hard to come by? This engine has performed very well, and haven't had to buy parts yet (outside normal wear), but expect that sometime will need:

- carb kit
- fuel pump
- electrical items (coils, sensors, etc)
- additional water pump impellers

Should I be looking to procure those parts now? or is the issue only the main engine/mechanical parts?
