Hey all,
Tired of gas problems on my 6hp Tohatsu. Great motor, 4 stroke single cyl, but it came as a MFS6C, which is the same as the MFS6B but it has the 'C" carb which is ported to be more emission friendly than the 'B" which was already a reduced emission version of the "A". Bottom line the "C" carb is unusable, fowls after 2 hours of use no matter how careful you are with clean gas. So I replaced the card with a "B" version and that works but it sits idle for 30-40 days sometimes and it's a crap shoot if it will run reliably. It will always start but may bog and die when power is applied. It's all the carb and the gas.
So how feasible is it to convert this thing to propane? I'm not worried about performance, my hull speed is 6 knots max and I have the sail pro propeller which I think is a 4 inch twist, so more power less speed than the standard prop.
Thoughts? Guidance?
Thanks!
