What do the rubber pipes do which link the 3 carb's together, & then enter the top inlet pipe (engine side) ?

Do you mean the fuel line?

No, The fuel line comes from the fuel pump, splits into 3, then feeds each of the three float chambers. The pipes I refer to are on the forward side of the carbs, they form a vertical ladder of links, & then from the top, & the side two other rubber pipes link, then arch over the top carb, & goes into a fitting in the top inlet manifold

That helps balance vacuum. Interesting ABS.
