My trim and tilt unit has sheared/broken off at the top of the hydraulic rod. These units are no longer made. I'm wondering how to proceed. Anyone know where I can purchase a used unit? OR Does anyone know whether another trim and tilt for another engine make will work? There are after market trim and tilt units but will be very hard to fit onto my 1964 Boston Whaler with wire steering. OR should I take off the unit and have a skilled welder repair the top of the hydraulic arm (reattaching it to the top fitting)? All suggestions welcome. (Located NE Connecticut on a small lake) Thanks! Dave

3AC771511M will work on the old-style (cabrureted A models) if you also use 3GF624661 tilt stopper.

Thanks Paul. Any place I can find a photo or video of the "tilt stopper" installation?

Look in your owner's manual. It's the stopper that mechanically keeps the motor tilted.
