I am new to this site and am looking for a combination tach & hour meter to install on the dash of my RIB. I don’t want a plastic stick on, that wraps around the spark plug wire from Ebay, but am looking for a proper dash mount mechanical/analog type.
Does Tohatsu make one for the 20 hp? Has anyone installed one that might assist with hookup in the motor?
I was hoping for an OEM that might plug into an existing pigtail. Does that exist?

You will need separate tachometer and hour meter, The TOCS multifunction meter won't work on a 20E

Thanks for the info. Are there pigtails to connect separate tach & hour meters? Where would I find a diagram with info for the connections?

If you have a Remote motor, use the tach lead wire kit 3R0725371M. Plugs right in.
Then select either a white or black 85mm tach, $125.00...
Then a 2" hour meter for $65.00
Hour meters are basically 12v electric clocks that start at Zero and count up whenever powered ON. If Remote, you can use the red wire from the RC box.

Wouldn't a Tohatsu BFT model tach with built in hourmeter work?

The $640 TOCS tachometer will work on the BFT models, but not on an MFS20.

For other owners who are interested in the tach/hr meter question the Tohatsu office in Texas answered my inquiry with the following:
“There are several aftermarket combo tach/hour meter gauges that will work. The pole setting for the MFS20 is 12 pole so you just need to make sure the tach has that pole setting to be able to properly read. Below is the wiring diagram for the 20EEPT model for connecting gauges. You will find an empty 4 pin connector that is where the gauge harness will plug into the control box or if you have a flush mount control the plug will be with the wiring under or in the console.

Your mileage may vary. Aftermerket tachs sometimes work OK, others not.
