Hi
Had a MFS 40A year 2020 4 Stroke tohatsu installed with remote control, electric start and PTT. When the ignition is switched on the REV and trim meter illuminate thus the gauges lights are on all the time. Is there any slight modification to make them light up with the nav lights switch..I was told that this is the standard. I think that if the blue wire from the engine harness that goes to the positive of the respective bulb/s on the gauges is disconnected definitely and a new power supply + from the boat panel navigation light is connected to the said gauges this will do the trick. But since i am not that versatile in electrics and may damage the engine i welcome some suggestions or what should be done.
Thanks

I normally power the instrument lights from the running lights switch. That's fine. They do not need to be lighted when the key switch is on.
