hi i am back with the M40D the carbs have been pulled taken apart cleaned and then reinstalled. With this motor having 3 carbs what is the rule of thumb for this motor to getting them tuned as close as posible without any special tools? i would also like to know what is involved in replacing the cooling impeller and where it is located. This engine also has oil injection and i would like to disable it and just run the mixture in the gas. how do i disable the alarm and i am guessing the mixture is probably 50 to 1?

There is no reason to disconnect the oil injection unless you want the engine to to run rich...Which I'm sure you wouldn't like. All of the information you need will be in your service manual.

Re: tohatsu M40D

Where can I find a service manual for this m40d is there somewhere I can download it off the internet. Also I have read many forums on adjusting carbs and I'm not sure if there are one or two adjustments for each of the three carbs ( low idle / full throttle ) if there are one or two can someone tell me how to begin tuning them? Thanx for all the info.

Any Nissan or Tohatsu dealer for the manual. It is illegal to transfer copyrighted material via the internet so the manuals are not available online. Carburetor adjustment is done with the engine running and you have to have an ear for it. It can't be done by static adjustment.
