Thankyou for the rapid reply. I have yet to obtain a service manual. The owner of the shop i bought the motor from said the tech who works there has the info on a CD at home but is out of town. The initial timing appears to be 8 degrees retarded and my 16' Basstracker only does 12mph at wot. With 5 hrs on the new rings I'd expect i could get a little more out of it. I couldn't find a book anywhere in San Antonio and must wait for delivery from Amazon. I'd like to take her out this afternoon but don't want to hole a piston with "timing by ear".
