Tohatsu M30 A2 ignition parts availability and compatibility.

Have an old motor that has recently stopped running, just died. Compressions show 105 and 115. Sparks are strong but notice that they miss every once in a while. Carb is new. Shooting fuel into the carb throat resulted in one loud pop but nothing more. Suspect trigger or CD unit. Cannot find parts listed for the M2 but parts are available for the M3. Are the parts compatible?

No clue. Don't even have a parts catalog that old. You can test trigger and cd. If needed, try CDI electronics for obsolete electronic parts.

Thanks for your response pvanv. After a lot of research I have come to the conclusion that parts are most likely extinct. Trying to save this motor is an exercise in futility.
