Greatings from Sunny South Africa.

I hope you guys can help me out???

I have a Tohatsu M70A motor(old maybe 1983), and I have no spark. disconnected the kill switch ect still nothing and think its the CDi..

Firstly I cant get a cheapish one in the country, secondly it takes ages to get here..(apparently they available somewhere)

Can they be fixed and can you use another motors unit?? will it still fire??

Another question - Removed the unit and its got HDI printed on the back, coincidence or is it something else..

Tohatsu in the UK does not have and cannot get the part?? what can I do

Thanks guys

Cheers

Re: Tohatsu CDi - no spark

We still have replacement units sold by Tohatsu in the U.S. They don't look anything like the old one, but they do work. They aren't cheap though and freight would be expensive. Delivery to S.A. would take 2 to 3 days. But, keep in mind that waterpumps are no longer available for that model so, in my opinion, you would be throwing your money away.

Re: Tohatsu CDi - no spark

The part number we use is the replacement part number for the old 353062600M. Transit time via FedEx would be 3 to 4 days, plus any hold time due to your country's Customs Dept. The freight surcharge would be $130.00 and the part is available from any Nissan or Tohatsu dealer in the U.S., including our website.
