When I put my 90 in gear in a current sometimes it stalls, if I rev it up a bit its fine, Im guessing I need to turn up the idle a bit, can somebody I dentify where the idle should be adjusted, the controls or back at the motor? Thanks

Re: Tohatsu 90 Idle Adjustment

You should adjust it up on the engine, on the starboard side. But, this is probably a sign that something else is starting to have a problem. They do not come out of adjustment on their own(usually). If the carburetors have not been cleaned in a few years I would check them for varnish or trash.

Clymer's manual says 700 rpm in gear.

Factory specs say 550 to 750 in gear at idle. Due to tachs being inaccurate....You have to guess a little.

Re: Tohatsu 90 Idle Adjustment

You can download a free owners manual from the Tohatsu web site. But there are no service manual downloads available. You have to buy a service manual. They should have the Clymer manual located here on iboats.
