Guys I'm after a Tohatsu/Nissan 9.8 and was wondering if there has been any major changes since 2007. Looking at these years and above and if there are any main differences I'd like to know them.

Otherwise these are a solid motor correct?

Year is unimportant; precise model is critical for servicing. You are talking about the 9.8A3 The MFS/NSF9.8A3 has been in production since before 2007. The A3 has a slightly better fuel pump and better voltage regulator (on electric models) than the earlier (A and A2) models. The only feature changes since the first A3's came off the assembly line have been in model availability: the extra-long (25") shaft for sailboats, the power tilt capability, etc... But the base motor has been the same. Same powerheads, same water pumps, same carbs, same LU's, etc. Yes, these are solid motors. I own one myself, an NSF9.8A3EPL from the 2007 model year. No repairs; Only normal oil changes and maintenance. We have had very few warranty claims of any sort on the 9.8 motors.
