Howdy all, <br /><br />I have a nearly new Tohatsu 9.8 4 stroke.<br /><br />It really runs well on my Zodiac Zoom.<br /><br />I'd like to add the optional alternator so I can charge a small gelcel and use a spotlight etc.<br /><br /> Has anyone done this and can you point me to where to obtain the parts to do it?<br /><br />I'd obviously need an alternator etc...The alternator is probably common to many engines (of course Nissan) maybe others?<br /><br /><br />Thanks, <br /><br />Rick<br /><br /><br />Well, I guess I asked too soon! I found a supplier.<br /><br />Onlineoutboards.com has the complete kit for $139.00. I guess now I could ask if anyone knows where I could get the kit cheaper. I'm assuming this is a pretty good deal.

They are available from any Tohatsu, Mercury or Tohatsu dealer. However, there are two different kits for that model engine depending on the serial number. They are not interchangable.

Thanks Elvin, <br /><br />I actually bought this motor from YOU a couple years ago.<br /><br />I still love it!
