Keep checking ebay. I've been looking for a new cowl for my '90 series 9.9 - see one every once in a while, but very sparse. I would doub anyone would be making a reproduction cover - just not enough demand.

Being that Nissan/Tohatsu doesn't have the market share that Mercury, Johnson have, their stuff is harder to find here in the USA. Especially on older motors. Heck, I can't even find the complete carb rebuild kits anymore, and my motor is a '90's model.

Another way to go is to find someone good at working with fiberglass or metal and have them make you a custom cover.

Buckeye,

The cowling and carb kit for your 9.9 is available from any Nissan or Tohatsu dealer.

Thorrenaud,

The 8 A went out of production in 1984 and were never imported into the U.S. in any large number. Most parts for the A are obsolete and impossible to find. Buckeye is right about eBay being a source for old A parts. Once or twice a month I will see a junk that someone wants to get rid of for $25.00 or $50.00.

This is a long shot but try these guys:

http://www.twincityoutboard.com/

These guys have an extraordinary outboard salvage yard. You are looking for a needle in a hay stack, but it is probably worth a shot. If anyone is going to have it, these guys will.
