My Tohatsu dealer said the only diference is the cpu. If that is so, and I'm not interested in a few more mph top end speed, do both motors have the same grunt at lower speeds up to a point? Would they both be equally efficient at getting a heavily loaded boat up on plane?

Thanks

I'll look up the differences tomorrow. It may be just the CPU, but I think there was something else different too.

My dealer in southern maine told me that theres no diff between the 40 and 50 besides carb settings, NOT the case.

I think we have the same dealer, $3500 cash and the next visit I get spoken to like im bugging him.

Elvin, if the only difference is the cpu, does the 90 have more power than the 70 throughout the whole rpm range, or does the extra power only come into play at top end speed? I bought the 90 last year and love it, but rarely travel wot. Would I have been just as happy with the 70?

Thanks
