Tohatsu 6hp - minimum gas problems

First, I apologize for my English - it is not my mother's tongue..
My Tohatsu 6hp four stroke sucked water and dirt from the tank (ran out of fuel.. my fault..); since then it dies often on very low revolutions (on minimum gas - while in gear - happens mainly in the harbour!). I had it serviced (carburator cleaned with compressed air and chemically, spark plugs replaced, minimum gas adjusted, etc.) with little success.
Minimum gas is even too high now, so that does not help. It never dies in idle. Looks like an ignition spark would be missing and the motor stucks.
It looks as if it would need the setting for minimum air flow (which it does not have) together with the minimum gas. What else can I do?
This is my last try - I am even thinking of selling it..
Hope you got the problem. Thanks.

OK, will be done (in a few weeks, I am away from my boat). But, I have less hope - it has been done several times already..
Thanks anyway.
Any further ideas?

It is possible that a piece of trash has blocked a passage in the carb. All you can do is keep cleaning it until it works.

OK, thanks again. At least I know nothing else can be suspected (ignition, some "secret" adjustment of the idle air flow,..) Will try again, until I loose my patience..
Regards, Matjaz
