Tohatsu 6 Fresh Water Rinse Problem

Can use some help. I do not use the bypass hose to rinse the engine much. I prefer to immerse in water and run. But... I used the bypass tube, threaded on very smoothly, hand tight only, but on removal the brass male threads broke off in the threaded hole provided.

I have little experience using easy outs. Is this the best way to remove the remaining threads I'm worried about damaging the female threads in the motor? Any other suggestions are appreciated.

If in doubt, see your dealer. You may have cross-threaded the adapter, so the threads in the motor may already be damaged. But you may get lucky.

Very strange, unless metal quality of the adapter has gone very low in quality, how many times do you think have screwed, unscrewed the adapter to the engine ? I personally ruined my Tohatsu 18 HP engine female threads by constantly using the adapter, now have switched to ear muffs for near daily fresh water rinsing...

That's the thing... It threaded on so smoothly. Ran water for five minutes and it tried to remove it just broke off. No tools involved. Metal threads looks normal so I am hoping that a easy out might work
