Try it again. I don't know why the first one worked but the second one didn't . I set it so anyone can see it.
Yes it also makes the chirping noise when it's in the water. It either goes away or gets drowned out when I increase throttle on the water. Sounds like the air compressor?
I sent the video to my dealer. He is about a two hour drive away. He said it's a normal sounding air compressor, but I could bring it in for them to look at if I want, and that they would charge me to look at it. I also have a 90tldi I bought from them in 2014, and it does not make the chirping sound.
Take it to the dealer. That is mercurys DFI system same as the optimax they don't sound like that. Lot of videos on you tube with that motor running doesn't sound like yours.
Do not go into the computer if it is under warranty that could void it. The software ,cable and the computer will cost you much more than the service call. The system may be mercurys but it's adapted to a tohatsu motor.
I have the same motor but 2010 model and it makes the same noise as well, Also didn't notice it until it had a few hours on it

I sent the video to another Tohatsu dealer who sent it in to Tohatsu in Texas. They said not to worry, that is the air regulator popping off while idling. He has a strong air pump with really good output. No issue with that motor at all. As it breaks in and wears some it may go down but it is not an issue. I printed the response and put it in my warranty book.
