Hello All

New to this forums, but not new to boats and engines. Just a technical issue, must all 3 carbs from this 2007 model year, have all 3 mixture screws adjusted at the same (in or out) tuns. Are 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 turns correct mixture factory adjustments ? Does this models needs in order to perform well, to have the mixture screws adjusted towards the rich side ? Any ideas, comments, etc

Each carburetor is independently adjusted for that individual cylinder. It's done by listening to the engine and knowing what to listen for. Take it to a dealer as the engine should be under warranty and if you adjust it incorrectly and it becomes damaged that warranty will be void.

Tohatsu 50 HP, 2 Strokes Issue

Thanks TG

Just a comment, a friend of mine has this new Toh 50, he's on the breaking in first 10 hours process, tells me the engine smokes heavily cause of the 50:1 mixture and that the engines runs a bit uneven at low speeds, when throttle is applied works ok. Would it be a matter of just waiting for the break in period to finish, remove the spark plugs, have them cleaned, regap if necesarry and see how the engine behaves at idle, medium, full wot.

If a two stroke engine would be horizontal carbed displaced, like a motorcycle, do you think it will need different mixture screws adjustments as of vertical engines. Is there a technical opinion on why would a vertical engine need to have different carb adjustments as all cylinders will have theorically the same compression. Is it reffered to the mechanical position of a given piston/cylinder, maybe the upper is cleaner than the lower one, or issues of this type. Any ideas.
