Tohatsu 5 HP 4 stroke Throttle Grip

The rubber throttle twist grip on my Tohatsu 2003 5 HP 4 Stroke works but feels like there is corrosion under it.. Rough to turn.. Will it simply come off to inspect under it by removing the screw that connects it to the throttle shaft? Don't want to try it until I know if that is all that is required?

Yes. You may have salt or sand in there.

Turn the adjust screw (11) to 0 load restriction and check if the excessive throttle load disappeared. Clean, lube related parts if needed..
