Hello, I have a 40 hp outboard Tohatsu motor that has a continuous warning alarm sounding. The model number is M40D2. The warning buzzer comes on after being in either the forward or reverse throttle position. It happens after running for about 30 - 60 seconds. Near the same time the buzzer sounds it begins to run on one less cylinder and if ran long enough (60 seconds or so) it seems to only run one cylinder. If I put the throttle in neutral the buzzer stops and then starts again as soon as I put in gear. If I turn the engine off for 2-5 minutes, it will run again with no buzzer for the 30-60 seconds and start the above over again. I was thinking this is an overheating alarm but the water pump is new and water is flowing out the hole. Thanks for in advance for any help.
