Tohatsu 30 problem

First time poster long time reader. Its a 30 horse 2 stroke and im assuming its about 10-15 years old. Well first of all my motor had an idle problem last year when it wormed up but now its running rough too. I will put it at full throttle and it will take 20 or 30 seconds to go to full throttle and it will miss and jerk the boat getting up on plain. Any ideas? Thanks for your time looking at this.

Always clean the carb and change plugs, but first do a compression test, check for spark and check your gear oil.
