Hi

Could anyone tell med the values for adjusting the float drop and float drop on a 3? hp 2-stroke Tohatsu model year 2004?

Flip the carb upside down...If it is level your carb is adjusted correctly.

Hi again.

The engine has only been used for about 2 hours from new (bought it last year). Suddenly one day it would'nt start. I Suspected it was the carb that was blocked in the jet, so I disassembled the carb and cleaned It with my compressor.

This made It possible to start the engine. But It w'ont run properly. It acts like it is'nt getting enough fuel. When firing it up, It wo'nt take the gas but goes down in rpm's also if I activate the choke. I changed to fresh fuel and checked the float drop, but nothing to get there.

What could be wrong with this almost new engine.

Clean the carb by dipping it in carb cleaner for at least 3 hours. After that...Just start testing everything.

Hi again

What is the chemical substance of carb-cleaner. I have been looking all over in auto-shops and still havent found any carb-cleaner.

Can I use degreaser for washing engines?

Carburetor cleaner is usually acid based and every auto parts store sells it in 1 gallon and 5 gallon pails. If it isn't on the shelves ask a store clerk where they hide it.
