Hola TG, TGuy

Have purchased from factory some Tohatsu's 3.5 B2L, 2 stroke engines for use in J-24 sailboats as aux engines in emergencies/out of wind issues. Although not the best pushing option, that was what the sailors wanted, a space saving issue.

I'm abouut to order some spare basic parts for these engines, was thinking in ordering : spark plugs, key & impeller, head gasket, tail spring pins, what other not costly spare part would you recommend adding to the list

Some wise words: Better to have and don't need, than to need and don't have :D

props, shear pins and safety lanyard cords are always a good idea to have around

None and you will not need the head gaskets.

Hola TG

The idea of ordering head gaskets is that down here we have many algae/kelp beaches along with floating waists such as plastic bags, when you drive a J-24 the least thing you'll do will be to watch water peeing through tail from time to time, if you are unlukyly to catch any of these issues on water intake, will have nearly an inmediate engine overheat  that's why you need a spare head gasket for. As we don't plan to stock any 3.5 parts on the shelf what so ever, we're recommending J-24 sailors to buy basic spare parts along with each of their engines for just in case...:D

Shear pins comes along with tool kit, will look for a quote on prop and lanyard.

Thanks TGuy.

Would it be advisable to include gasket pump case & gasket guide plate in the spare list ? Would you say; Do not break if removed fresh, only breaks when removed with years of usage, please advise.
