Tohatsu 3.5B shifting problem

Hi,
I am the new owner of a used 1995 Tohatsu 3.5B outboard. I had it out today and ran into a problem on the water. I idled down to shift it out of forward into neutral. When I went to shift it back into forward, it wouldn't go. The lever will switch from forward to neutral positions, but it will not engage and go. please help!

Either you have a broken shear pin or you have a broken retaining pin inside the shift handle housing.

it was just a shear pin! thank you so much. i was starting to get worried i would be spending too much on this used motor, but this thing is awesome. i can afford new shear pins all day!
