Tohatsu 25hp M25B Lower Gear Case

Hi All,

i am wondering if someone can help me out, i have dissambled lower unit but due to not being able to select forward, and it seems the shift selector in the unit is the problem, I cannot seem to get the rod out of the lower unit.

Am i missing something here, should it just pull out of the gear case or is there a trick to it.

Once the bushing is free, the cam rod should come out with a stiff tug.

You will want to pull the prop shaft housing... may find a stripped clutch or gear. The cam rod should pull out after you release the bushing that retains and guides it.
