tohatsu 25hp 2stroke runs rough and backfires into exhuast

hello every one I have a tohatsu 25hp and I am having a problem starting the engine and when it starts it runs very rough an backfires in the exhaust and will not accelerate i already cleaned the fuel system and replace th spark plugs <br />can anyone help me please

Need more information.<br /><br />1. How old is the motor, and is it 2 or 4 stroke?<br /><br />2. If you've owned it for a while, did this problem just start suddenly or is it something that has gotten progressively worse over time?<br /><br />3. Has the motor overheated recently? <br /><br />4. Do you know when the carburetor was last rebuilt?<br /><br />5. Do you know what the compression readings are on the cylinders?<br /><br />Without knowing more, it's hard to tell. Please post back with more details when you can.

There are only three things that will cause a backfire on this engine.<br /><br />1) Broken flywheel key<br />2) Spun crank<br />3) Bad trigger coil
