I bought a new 20hp Tohatsu in June and like it so far, it has about 9 hours on it. I have had a small issue with it not idling one morning so I took the carb off and cleaned it and it now idles again perfectly. I just assumed some junk in the carb low speed jetting passages from the production of the engine.
But the one issue that has happened twice and is unsolved is, when I started the engine the red oil pressure light did not turn off in a couple of seconds like normal. When that happened I stopped the engine and checked the oil level, which was fine both times and I restarted the engine, and the light turned off like normal. Has anyone seen these symtoms? Could the oil pressure switch be sticky? Where is it located on the engine? By the way I use 10W-30 FC-W Shell Nautilus oil.
