Hello, I unfortunately failed to notice that the grommet protecting the power lines into the engine compartment fell out of place and caused the positive wire to ground out, well my ignition coil is ok,since it has been replaced, I checked the neutral safety witch as well as the lanyard switch, when I crank the engine the oil pressure light goes on even when I pull start the engine, the fuse is fine.
I'm having a trying time testing the CDI unit ,,do these usually get fried first? or should I bring it to my local tohatsu shop to have it tested? In anyone's opinion what other components could have been cooked,,so to speak, or is it actually possible to troubleshoot and test the cdi unit etc. with a multimeter and my manual. oops in NY. Thanks!
P.S. the original ignition coil got fried and was tested by me and replaced with a new one which tested fine.
