toe rope sucked up

1997 Waverunner.. spotter allowed tow rope under craft .. sucked up into intake.. Anything so stupid happen to any one elese... what is the right way to get it out... I would appreciate any help..If I start to turn boat over I feel some slack in rope.. I tried putting craft in reverse with no change.<br /><br /><br /> Thanks

happens all the time, reverse is NOT really reverse so forget that. remove the intake grate,get a long knife and have fun cutting it out . After you do some cuts pull on some pieces with a pair of needle nose plyers and you will remove the rope .

If you remove the spark plugs, you maybe able to save the rope by spinning the impeller backwards. Removing the plugs lets you spin the impeller(with your hands) without much resistance because it releases any compression. I've never done this but have heard people freeing their ropes without having to cut them.

yep, did that. I got the rope so stuck in there so tight (it melted) that i had to take it into the shop so they could remove it.

Been there!<br /><br />I had a niece wind up a 50 foot ski rope in the impeller of a Yammy quicker than you can say: :where'd the rope go"? <br /><br />It took me three hours to cut that mess out.
