Anyone going to the Todd Warner boat collection auction in MN this Saturday?

Looks very interesting.
150 boats, many motors, drives, and a hundred pallets of parts.

Take a look, some really cool stuff here:

Sorry to say I will be working, or I'd be there just to check it out.

So who is/was Todd Warner?

F. Todd Warner, founder and owner of Mahogany Bay, a Minneapolis company specializing in the sales, storage, transportation and restoration of classic wooden boats, began this collection after restoring his father?s nine wood boats in 1974 on Lake Minnetonka. Since then, he has bought, sold and restored over 1,000 classic boats. Many founding Minnesota families such as Crosby, Walker, Griswold, Weesner and Pillsbury were instrumental in supporting the development of the U.S. boating industry as avid owners, enthusiasts and promoters of the golden age of wood boats.

I would just love to cruise around the lake in a vintage Chris Craft.

Caution, fellows. This thread has a lot of potential to descend into bashing and name calling. If that happens,. . . .ZAP!!

There won't be any name bashing here. Not from me anyways. Thought I would just drop it out there. There has been lots of talk about something like this brewing in the Antique Boat Community for awhile. I just wanted to see if anything had been talked about elsewhere.

If you read the documents, it would appear that there was some "shady" happenings in the planning of the auction. Of course, it's all hearsay at this point and a court of law will need to make that decision. I just find it odd that a company with their reputation, would risk it all on one Auction. They aren't even players in the Antique Boat Community yet.

This will have a very adverse effect on the hobby as a whole I would imagine. It has to be a PR nightmare for the Mecum & Warner camp.....
