Pro VRO or Con VRO

What year engine?
After reading that, I believe I will hook mine back up also.
Do not hook up a VRO that ha been disabled for a long time. It will no longer be trustworthy.
Explain...
I agree, one should not just hook up the oil hose and go, but...... the conditions you outlined are easily verifiable and remedied prior to putting the system back in service. The oil side of a VRO Has been run with no oil in it which means no lube. If the o-ring has failed you will have fuel on the oil side of the pump not good. The sensor has been unplugged to kill the alarm so you no longer know if that is any good. That is a case of not using it makes it worse. Another reason to not trust it is you don't know why it was disconnected in the first place.
Are these VRO units not easy to take apart for inspection ?----They are not exotic and complicated.-----Mixed fuel would lube the o-ring on the oil piston would it not ?
