Do you trailer with your motors completely tilted down, up, or half way?

I am confused on this:confused:

I tilt it up enough to use one of these supports: http://www.yamaha-motor.com/outboar...tail/5/350/1236/9207/all/1/8045/0/detail.aspx I think the very best option would be a transom saver type of device that attaches to the trailer and supports the outboard if you tilt it while trailering: http://www.cabelas.com/outboard-acc...-958E-DF11-A0C8-002219318F67&mr:referralID=NA

For my Yamaha F150 it is basically a requirement according to the manual to use some type of support when trailering if you tilt the motor back. With my setup leaving the motor down, would result in the skeg hitting bumps in the road. I think this would apply to most situations, unless you have a trailer with significant ground clearance. If you have enough clearance, I'd say leaving the motor full down would be the best option. Check your owners manual to see what they say about trailering.

Tilt all the way up and slide the lock down and that's it.

Have trailered this way for hundreds and hundreds of miles.

Trailer it up using a transom saver as it is too long to leave down (risk damage on bumpy roads) but if it wouldn't be a clearance issue, I'd tow it straight down.
