I have a leak on the connection at the carb input from the fuel pump, It is impossible to get at, I went to move the starter but cant get it off, not pic'ed in the mannual, seems like a solid pice on the entire side of motor. is there an easy way or do I need to move the starter ? and how do i get this monster off? or get at the hose connection, I do have the noise cover removed, no help.

I believe there are 4 bolts on the starter/bracket. One on the top coming down from the rewind housing. Two on the port side, and one slightly above and to the right of the carb. Note, you may have to remove the starter solenoid to access the lower port bolt. That bold comes out sort of sideways but the left starter solenoid mount bolt is in the way. Don't forget to note the position/location of any wires removed from the starter solenoid if necessary. Seems like a lot of work but not really too bad once you get the hang of it. Good luck!

you have to remove the complete starter bracket, not just the starter.

Thanks for the help, wow so much work just for a hose, The top bolt you speak of, there is no rewind housing, so where else to look? also looks like the trottle shaft/ linkage has two small screws that may have to be removed as well, they go tru the bracket, maybe when I remove the solenoid, I'll see how it comes off.
I see the bolt in front by the carb, and one top port side, is it possible there are only three bolts?

Yes, sorry forgot the throttle shaft, yes you'll have to remove the two screws and slide the shaft over. Watch out for the inner and outer sleeves. Don't want to drop em. Perhaps your model has only 3 screws. You'll know when you remove them. If she still doesn't budge then there's a forth that needs to be removed. I suspect from the top somewhere.

Ok thanks for the help , the fuel lines are replaced, like you said , one nut above the carb, one on the port side above the solenoid, the last 3rd bolt was port side just left and below the solenoid, the bolt backs out toward the solenoid, and has a ground wire on a black stump like piece, then the 2 screws for the trottle shaft holder, the bracket comes right off.
Tested the lines by squeezing the bulb a few times, no leak then put everthing back together, no extra parts left over, so guess I did good :D

Good stuff...now you have the background experience if you ever have to service the starter or the carb in the future:) Nothing ventured nothing gained.
