I have a 90hp TLDI on a 20' center console skiff. The prop is a Michigan 13 3/4 diameter by 15 pitch vortex. The hull weighs around 900# without the motor. Total weight with one person aboard is around 1500# including the motor and kicker. When running light like this, the motor will get up to 5800rpm, so I know that's good. But once or twice a year, I take the boat to our camp, accessible only by water. Then I'm carrying 4 or 5 people and gear around all week. Loaded heavier like this, I can only get around 5000 WOT, so I know I'm over-propped for these conditions.

I noticed iboats has a couple different 13 3/4" x 13"pitch props on sale. Some are 3blade and one is 4 blade. By dropping down to a 13" pitch 4-blade prop will the motor still spin faster with a heavy load, or should I just get a 3-blade 13" pitch?

Thanks
