What does "starter kicks out": mean? Do you mean that the starter motor does not stay engaged when cranking? How long did you leave the key on without running? A couple minutes, or a few hours? What is your actual model/serial?

Thank you very much sir for your response and thanks in advance for any advice, answers etc. Here is info you requested and more, hope it helps you to help me. An 025161xc, model nsd90b 3t9-1, maybe an 2003 model, left key on for at least 1 hour maybe 3-4(hard lesson to learn) get 5000 rpm for hrs(5 hrs I think) and 1 fault code of1000 rpm with steady lights of battery and water temp. Can't match this code with reference I have(old PDF with some tldi codes but not for my exact engine) found a dealer today that is about an hour away and will contact him tomorrow for a service manual and possible guidance or repair if it is big, checked 3 fuses near flywheel and they are good.but the gear on starter engages flywheel for a few revolutions of engine then disengages before it cranks, repeating this cycle A few times and then the gear will stop engaging flywheel all together, also running a1000 CCA with cleaned connections, do I need to clear the fault code to make it crank or leave code for a service tech? Thanks again

I would test the starter solenoid. Sounds like it gets warm and disengages. Verify the battery is very good; check and clean all heavy 12v wiring, especially grounds. Remote possibility that the starter motor has a problem, but not likely.
