The factory supplied leads on my motor are about 6' long. For trim purposes on my boat, I extended the leads an additional 15' to the batteries located under the center console. What wire size are the factory leads (they have no identifying AWG number), and must I use the same size AWG for the 15' extension?

I would use 4 gauge, no matter what the original size wire is. You will need a larger wire to compensate for the length..

You should never, ever, extend leads. Where you joined them together will be a point of voltage loss within a year. You need to get new cables, in 4 gauge as suggested, and get the biggest amp battery you can.
