ok guys newproblem 1982 60hp rude muffs on motor idles when i pull top plug wire off motor quits when i pull bottom wire motor stays running bottom new coil.
Your english is fine. Just needed to know where to start and stop is all. So now we know that the top coil fires but the bottom coil does not.
The orange wires that lead from the powerpack to the coils, reverse them temporarily. If the bottom coil now fires and the top coil doesn't, that would usually indicate a faulty powerpack.
you were right joe it was the power pack. doesn't hurt to have a extra coil. should i use a water fuel seporator. up here in ky. gas is 10%ethonal. thanks for your help.
Glad you found the problem. A water/fuel seperator is a splendid idea. One nevers knows when one will purchase some expensive water. Not using one put me in a spot in the Delaware Bay many years back, a scarey experience.
