Re: Tire Wearing?

What's the wear pattern? Outside of tread, inside of tread, center of tread, cupping, what? Could be anything from underinflation, overiinflation, out of balance, bent spindle, loose wheel bearing, loose "U"-bolt allowing axle to move out of alignment to name just a few things.

What is your history with this trailer?

Did you buy 4 new tires and this is all of a sudden happen or have you been running for awhile and this wear just started occuring?

It is wearing on the outside.

I have been running these tires since I bought the boat in 2001.

Re: Tire Wearing?

Did you verify any of the things like Silvertip said regarding bent spindle, axle out of alignment...

After you verify those things, it could be a falulty tire or you damaged it by hitting it. A belt that has slipped inside the tire can cause this to happen.

Something moved on the trailer. Bent, most likely.

If the axle moved, on the trailer, you'd see corresponding wear on the inside of the tire (opposite side), on the same axle.

My guess is that wheel took a curb shot and bent the spindle mount.
