Re: Tire size?

That's an Old Tire......
Letter Sizes went out a Long Time Ago.....

They're all listed in Metric now......
I Think you'd around a 195/75-14, or 215/75-14....
Radial tires would be 195R/75-14, etc.......

You might want to buy a Pair,+ keep the righthand 1 for a spare.........

Re: Tire size?

I just got some new ones, G78-14 is equivalent to 215/75-14. My old ones were F-78-14 which is equivalent to 205/75-14. The 215/75-14 is about the biggiest size that you can commonly get for 14 in rims, and they give you 1870 lbs per tire in the C load rating, at 50 psi. To get a higher load rating you have to go up to a 225 75-15 which means also getting new rims and making sure that there is enough clearance under the fenders.

bull. Bridgestone do the SF-340 EAGER in a 245/70R14. Have them fitted to my Fairlane. Bf Goodrich also make R14 tyres this big. I am certain that you have a bigger range than us in the States.

Re: Tire size?

Not in trailer tires --here we are told by trailer manufacturers that you must use ST trailer tires, and the radials are made by Goodyear, Cooper and some smaller companies. Bias are made by Carlisle, Titan, Denan, Nakang/Nanco, Loadstar, etc. I have looked at just about all the trailer tire manufacturers available in the US, and 215/75 14 is the biggest commonly available ST trailer tire that fits a 14 in rim.
Fairlane--I had a 1970 Ford Fairlane/Torino with the Ford 302 V-8, C-4 auto trans and the 9" rear end. Probably a bit different that the down under one!
