Tire question

I recently purchased a pair of Nanco tires. I haven't gotten them mounted yet because I wanted to paint the rims. I noticed that they are load range C with recommended pressure of 90 PSI. Isn't this pressure dangerously high?

Re: Tire question

Load range C tires can take it, but if the boat is a 14 aluminum car topper you do not need over 35. If it is a big heavy boat more pressure means cooler tires and less chance of a blow out.

Re: Tire question

It's actually a 15' aluminum runabout. I have pumped them to about 70 pounds and my pucker-factor gave out. Nerves wouldn't let me go any higher. Although they're rated a 990 lbs. each at 90 PSI, I calculate to have a little less than 400 lbs on each wheel, fully fueled but without beer cooler. Thanks for your reply.

Re: Tire question

So you plan on getting close to 990 lbs each with the beer cooler?

I wanna go fishing with you!
